Frequently Asked Questions

When contacting a furniture or freight delivery company, what is the best way to start? We’ve decided to take the confusion out of the search. Here are some of the questions we think are important -- to help you find the delivery company that’s best for you.

Q:  As a potential retail furniture or bedding client of Empire Delivery, Inc., is my Company prohibited from using your services due to minimal sales volume (less than daily full truck load)?

Answer:  Total sales volume is not an issue. We have generic Empire Delivery trucks on the road every day. These trucks carry deliverable merchandise for a number of small retailers and allow those retailers to achieve competitive delivery prices by doing so.

Q:  As a potential client of Empire Delivery, Inc., what do we need to do to inquire about or to initiate service?

Answer:  It’s as simple as making a call to our Corporate Office (215)632-1200 and asking to speak with Tom Donnelly, Jim Mattock or Lyndon Johnson. From that point, we will meet with you to discuss the details of the services you would like us to provide. We will tailor a program and pricing to fit your needs - and present accordingly - for your review and decision-making process.

Q:  What areas do you service?

Answer:  We currently have a heavy concentration of service within a 75 to 100 mile radius of our Corporate Office & Warehouse in Northeast Philadelphia (Eastern Pennsylvania to the southern New Jersey shore points, Lancaster, PA, the Pocono Mountains, Northern Delaware & Maryland). We can also provide service to northern New Jersey, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

We also Have a warehouse and delivery in Pompano Beach Florida servicing Miami, Port Saint Lucie, Ft Lauderdale, West Palm, Sarasota, Estero, Naple, Ft Meyers, Marco Island and more.

Q:  As a potential client, do we need to sign a formal Agreement with Empire Delivery, Inc.?

Answer:  Yes, “dedicated” operations for a specific client will require a formal Agreement due to investment into “dedicated” management and equipment. In the case of “non-dedicated” operations, it will only be necessary to formalize the rates for the services provided (i.e., generic Empire Delivery trucks).

Q:  Once we have made a decision to use Empire Delivery, Inc., how quickly can we get started?

Answer:  The “non-dedicated” operations can be assimilated into our current operations within a matter of days of reaching a mutual understanding. The “dedicated” operations (depending on the magnitude and scope of the new business) will be dependent on availability of equipment, manpower, trained personnel, etc. Empire Delivery senior management will apprise you of a formal start up timetable in these instances.

Q:  In the case of furniture and bedding deliveries, can Empire Delivery haul away old bedding and / or furniture?

Answer:  Empire Delivery can provide haul away of old bedding at a nominal charge. However, we cannot provide that service for old / used furniture that a customer wants to dispose of.
